If youre moving or planning a trip to Richmond, Va with your furry buddy, you may want to know where the dog parks are and some of the features they have. Some parks are unfenced, others may have two separate areas for dogs to play who are different sizes and energy levels, and some parks may have water fountains and picnic tables.

Remember to always pick up after your dog and to keep an eye on him as he plays with other dogs. Vaccines should always be kept up to date and ID collars should be kept current in case something does happen.

Hollywood Cemetery located in the northern part of Richmond at 412 South Cherry St is open from 8am to 5pm Mon thru Fri. Leashed dogs are allowed through the cemetery as you read and pass by some historical headstones and plots. You may find John Tylers and James Monroes graves, two of our U.S.

DALLAS — The latest effort by airlines to broadly raise fares — hikes of $4 to $10 per round trip within the U.S. — faltered Monday as some airlines balked at the increase.

United and Continental started the fare hikes on Friday and most other airlines went along at first. But on Sunday, Southwest rolled back the increases, and American did the same Monday morning.

“We rescinded this increase because other airlines also pulled it back,” said Tim Smith, a spokesman for American.

Rick Seaney, CEO of FareCompare.com, said Southwest’s “waffling” over the weekend was “likely to scuttle this price increase attempt.”

U.S. airlines raised base domestic prices several times in early 2011 to increase revenue as they faced rising jet fuel costs. The last broad fare increase was in April.

Because airlines constantly run sales, the average fare paid by passengers often doesn’t rise as much as the stated increase in base fares. South

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has appointed the CEO who will launch its as yet unnamed low cost carrier.

Campbell Wilson will head up the new airline ahead of its debut in 2012.

Wilson has been with the SIA group for more than 15 years, holding positions in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and the airline’s head office in Singapore.

Most recently he has been living in Tokyo as SIA’s general manager for Japan.

Wilson said his first job in his new role will be to recruit staff to run the new airline.

“My immediate task is to establish a strong management team and we will be actively recruiting to fill senior positions,” he said.

The new no-frills airline, while wholly owned by SIA, will operate independently of its parent airline, flying medium and long-haul routes with wide-body aircraft.

The low cost sector is largely untapped, said Wilson, with a growing demand in Asia for low-fare travel.

“There is huge potential in this new market segment and we can promise many exciting developments from the new airline in the lead-up to our launch next year,” he said.

If you happened to be strolling by the famed Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, B.C. last Friday night around 11 p.m. you may have noticed two people searching through the bushes with a flashlight.

That would have been me and a staff member of the hotel. We were out there looking for my luggage.

I’d arrived at the hotel that morning in time to meet John Gibeau, a bee keeper who’d just harvested 600 pounds of honey from a bank of beehives he’d installed on the hotel lawn a few months earlier.

Gibeau offered to give me a tour of the hives and I (bravely? foolishly?) followed him into the beehive corral where 60,000 bees were, well, already busy as bees making more honey.
