China Daily: Twin pandas were born in southwest China7s Sichuan province.

The mother panda, Qi Zhen gave birth to the cubs on August 4, 0.  The first was female of 5g, and the second was a male weighing g.  These are Qi Zhen7s fourth set of twins, making breeders hopeful that she will raise them together, without cub swapping. (GiantPandaZoo.com)

Panda Qi Zhen did not have such a warm relationship with her own mother, Mei Mei.  After birth, Mei Mei scratched Qi Zhen, causing a wound that required 7 stiches.  The Chinese name 0Qi Zhen derives from this operation as it homophone of the phrase 07 stitches.

ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY - Arlington National Cemetery became America’s most hallowed burial ground when a Union officer decided in 1861 that the best place to inter Civil War dead was on the grounds of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee’s plantation, just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.

Feature 1: Travel search is about ready to take the next leap, courtesy of next-generation search engines like Hopper and Ness, and new products like the Google Hotel Finder.

Ness Computing announced a $5 million series A funding round back in July, and now its ready to launch its app, starting with restaurants.

Ness is a personal search-engine app that provides users with content from trusted friends and results tailored to each individual persons preferences.

The app intelligently adapts to a users tastes over time. Its so-called Likeness Engine uses collaborative filtering, social graph data mining and natural language processing.

Existing search engines dont have a sense of who you are; they just know whats available, said Corey Reese, CEO and co-founder of Ness Computing.

I’ve now arrived in Innsbruck and am enjoying the Travel Bloggers Unite conference, even though the conference itself is yet to begin!

As one of the conference activities, today I took an iPhone photography tour with Kirsten Alana, travel blogger and famed iPhone photographer.  Kirsten taught us that you actually can get professional-quality photos from an iPhone, and there’s no excuse for taking bad iPhone photos when you have so many great tools.

For the best results, you need an iPhone 4, but you can definitely do well with a 3GS, which I have.  You just need the apps: like AutoStitch, PS Express, 8mm, Pro HDR, Diptic, and more.

And I immediately became obsessed with Instagram.
